EARLY Voting For Texas Primary
Early voting for the Texas Primary starts Monday May 14 and ends Friday May 25, 2012. We are fortunate to have eighteen early voting locations in Travis County. The benefit of early voting is that you can vote at ANY of the 18 early voting locations. IF you wait and vote on the election day May 29, 2012 then you will have to go to your precinct and vote. The possibility of having to wait in line is definitely a drawback of waiting to vote on May 29, 2012.
For the Texas Primary elections you have to vote either Democrat OR Republican, there is no mix and match. You walk into the early elections voting location to table one and produce documentation of a voter registration card, driver license, id card or something that shows you are you. Here they have Texas Primary sample paper ballots to look at. It is possible to get a sample ballot or get both sample ballots for the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. For the 2012 Travis County Primary Elections the sample paper ballot for the Democrats is blue and the sample paper ballot for the Republicans is pink.
Table two will have you verify your address information is correct on the label given and submitted to table two, before sending you to table three. If your information on the label is correct then fantastic you are ready for next step.
Table three will ask you if you are going to vote Democrat or Republican then you will have your voter registration card stamped. You can say “NO” to having your registration card stamped. Table three will give you your voter access code receipt that you key into the voting machine to allow you to start voting. Your little voting receipt will show your precinct voting in and IF you have decided to vote Democrat or Republican. You can keep your voter receipt that has your access code as a souvenir. Hiring Employees
I have supervised several employees and managed several employees. My supervision and managing employees consisted of employees from poverty to rich, from respectable to non respectable, from tattoo wearing to non tattoo wearing, from ghetto neighborhoods to rich neighborhoods. However I had not done the hiring before until May 2012. Therefore I will share with you my first hiring experience that I had in the Spring of May 2012.
I was mailed the paperwork telling me that I would be an Alternate Judge in the May 2012 Austin Texas General elections. My first reaction was fantastic this will be a good introduction into the Austin Texas elections. I attended the training which was very descriptive of all the duties that I would be performing. I also attended the ADA training to be properly prepared on handling a person with disabilities wishing to vote. Ok I thought then since I was the Alternate Judge, I read that it was actually the Judge that did the hiring. To confirm the clerks hired, I called the Judge and asked him if he had already hired the 2 clerks we had been allotted. The Judge said no, that he would go ahead and let me do the hiring of the clerks.

my journey and experience of what many hiring employers face every day starTED |
I called up a couple of gals and asked them about working, one gal said that the 12 hour shift of 7:00 am – 7:00 pm would be a bit much but she would work the 12 hours if necessary. Immediately I saw the opportunity to be able to hire 4 employees as clerks instead of 2 employees, thus helping the American economy. Two more applicants were hired which brought my total of employees hired up to 4, with a wide variety of employees because I had 2 Hispanics, 1 Chinese and 1 Honderus. Immediately I sent out emails to the morning shift (which were the two Hispanic gals) saying that they would be working 6:30 am – 1:00 pm and then sent emails to the afternoon shift (the gal from China and the gal from Hondorus) saying they would be working 1:00 pm – 7:30 pm along with instructions about taking the online training.
Working day came and I thought hum this will be a breeze. Well good morning Nancy because I was about to experience what just about every hiring employer faces. 7:00 am came and the two morning clerks that were to be at work at 6:30 am did not show up until 7:15 am I thought “ok no problem, folks get lost and it’s been slow, so let’s move forward.” Moving forward is exactly what happened, that is moving forward to having me think these two gals are total crazies if they think I am going to cave into them.
· One of the morning shift employees, Yolanda showed up wearing a brown dress that revealed her breast with one boobie continually hanging out. Along with the back of her dress stayed up revealing her cellulite butty and back legs.
· Yolanda with the brown dress immediately started name dropping of how she knows this person and she knows that person along with they are good friends.
· When I mentioned that how many voters do you think we’ll have before you all leave. OH MY GOSH world war III started. The employee with the brown dress says, oh no she’s working till 7:00 pm.
· The employee with the brown dress became argumentive despite having me tell her that her email stated her hours working were 6:30 am – 1:00 pm. She told me that she had received an email from some female I was unfamiliar with (a mystery lady) telling her that her hours were 7:00 am – 7:00 pm Immediately I clarified that I’m not sure who the female is that emailed her she was working 7:00 – 7:00 however I the person that had hired her sent her an email saying she was working 6:30 – 1:00.
· The brown dress clerk went outside to make several phone calls to some of the many people that she knows.
When 12:30 came the other two employees working the afternoon shift started arriving, therefore I told them that they could hang out till about 5 minutes till 1:00 when they could get to their stations. At about 5 minutes till 1:00 the two employees were told their shifts were up and their replacements were here. The lady with the brown dress stormed out looking cross eyed and once again reaching for her cell phone. I said “it’s been a pleasure” then thought to myself “clerks working 6:30 – 1:00 shift”. Many hiring employers face obstacles and situations to overcome,
|
some hiring managers decide to cave in and some like myself decide who are the employees and who is the employer. If I had caved in and allowed the two morning shift employees work till 7:00 pm then I would have screwed over 2 good quite employEEs |
that despite having connections did not mention anything until towards the end of their shift. The American economy consist of big business, corporate business and small businesses …… and if any of these businesses, hiring managers allow an employee to manipulate and control their decisions then how long do you think the business will stay open and maintain what the company wants?

Can A Mormon Be President in America

Many moons ago pilgrims ran and ran fast, then all cramped in a ship to come to America. Their friends, co-workers, neighbors etc probably thought the pilgrims were CRAZY to get on a ship and head for unknown territory. Yet these “crazy” pilgrims had one song in mind “I WANT TO BE ME, I’VE GOT TO BE ME”. The “crazy” pilgrims wanted religious freedom, the pilgrims wanted to go to the church of their choice, and pray to who they wanted ………………………. so they ran for the ship. They ran to the ship fully aware that since they had decided to go against THE NEW NORM they had just been labeled with “treason”. Christians that did not want to be a part of the Catholic church got in the Mayflower ship, and headed out to sea then landed on Plymouth Rock in 1620.
So in 2012 can the dreams of many come true of pilgrims that loaded a ship named Mayflower which probably indicated, may we be like a flower, a flower who is planted in the soil and grows. Mitt Romney would be the first Mormon President of the United States of America. In a country that was founded on “religious freedom” is it possible that discrimination would not be a deciding factor of who to vote for. The Mormon church is one of the 3 richest churches in the world, therefore good financial sense and financial investments are probably practiced.

“Get Your Dog”
April 16, 2012 an Austin, Texas police officer named Thomas Griffin shot and killed a dog. A dog who the owner had grown to love as a family member who stands by its owner is priceless. When trauma occurs the natural reaction is to lash out and want revenge and place blame. Unfortunately two totally different stories have been reported from the owner of the dog and from the RECORDING of the police car dash camera. The dog owner has told ABC news, etc that he, the dog owner ASKED police officer Thomas Griffin not to shoot the dog however police officer Griffin is heard clearly saying “get your dog” from the police car dash camera. A police officer has seconds to decide IF he will let his defenses down, therefore when yelling out “get your dog” is not the time for a debate or to attempt to explain the dog is harmless.
Animal lovers and cop haters quickly seized the opportunity to capitalize on the “cop kills defenseless dog” issue. A facebook page titled “Justice for Cisco” was quickly made where over SEVENTY ONE THOUSAND PEOPLE joined the page. The dog owner remains hurt because he has lost a part of his life, not only a dog but a friend who was ready to attack and kill for his owner.
This story is written objectively and without personal preference despite the fact that I personally know Thomas Griffin from San Antonio Texas, I have worked at the same work place location and seen his work, his attitude and his perception of both of human and animal life. Thomas Griffin is not an animal hater or paranoid cop, Thomas Griffin is a police officer who responds with logic when he has seconds to decide what to do when threat
ened by a human or a dog.

Giffords Last Bill To Be Signed
United States House of Representative Gabrielle Giffords just before she was shot sponsored and voted on the “Ultralight Aircraft Smuggling Prevention Act of 2012.” The Bill enables law authorities with MORE AUTHORITY to fight drug trafficking NOT ONLY on the borders between the United States and Mexico BUT ALSO along the United States and Canada borders. Much concentration in the past has been placed along the United States and Mexico border however with the increase of terrorist infiltrating the drug trafficking, an increase in border security is needed. Per the D.E.A. Drug Enforcement Administration the “drug trade” utilizes the “tactics” of terrorist to ensure intimidation and manipulation. Terrorist manipulate and control through various sources, since the “illegal drug trafficking” is a big business that brings lots of control, it’s understandable that the “drug trade” has become a “fighting terrorist” situation also.
Gabrielle Giffords unfortunately she was not able to pursue her works on H.R. 3801, the “Ultralight Aircraft Smuggling Prevention Act of 2012” because of her unfortunate circumstances. NO PROBLEM, despite the absence of Gabrielle Giffords, the bill passed with a vote of 408 to 0. On Friday February 10, 2012 President Barack Obama will sign the Ultralight Aircraft Smuggling Prevention Act of 2012. No word if extra security precautions will be taken to ensure the completion of the works for H.R. 3801, Ultralight Aircraft Smuggling Prevention Act of 2012.

CARY Event Big Turnout
A large crowd enjoyed hearing about the first hand experiences of Dr. Deborah Prothrow-Stith who saw in the hospital emergency room the consequences of bullying and youth violence. As an intern Dr. Prothrow-Stith saw that when bullying does not stop it can end up with the victim or victims in the hospital. The youth was getting stitches in the hospital emergency room because he had been at a party and danced with a female who had a jealous boyfriend. The jealous boyfriend reacted to peer pressure from the crowd that encouraged a physical confrontation. The CARY program, the Council on At Risk Youth program practically changes the life of a youth. CARY helps about 600 “high risk disciplinary students” each year, these are youths that have disciplinary issues at school. The hard works and dedication of Gary Cobb, Art Acevedo, Terry Cowan, Greg Hamilton, Roger Wade, Ex Austin police Chief Stan Knee and many other people is what makes CARY successful. CARY is a program that has many supporters “in a world that often forgets our troubled youth” said Deacon Doots Dufour to the crowd of people. When a youth is the victim of youth violence several youths are involved. “It’s not enough to just raise a child to be good” is a quote that reminded every person in the room that it’s not just about raising their kids to be “good kids”. Youths interact with other youths, therefore helping the youth of someone else just might help one’s own youth. Dr. Prothrow-Stith said that there is an increase of young women involved in violence, one possible factor to the increase in young women involved in violence is transference. To solve the problem of increased numbers of young women violent we find out the reason and what lead to the situation. For example “young lady I know that you just slapped or put down someone because your boyfriend slapped you or called you stupid.” Having the youths understand that they just made someone feel the way they were made to feel and have just continued the cycle of violence, might help a young woman understand her behavior. Working with youths has got to be one of the hardest things in the world because their minds and opinions of people are still forming. A 14 year old youth male or female is a direct witness of our behavior, we cannot say don’t do this, yet we do the same thing. What helps is being honest and incorporating the two people to work towards one thing. Saying something like “I am not perfect, Lord knows I am not perfect HOWEVER I’d like to help you with your anger because THAT would help me feel as if I am contributing to the good.” Putting things in this way keeps the focus off the attitude of “I AM HELPING YOU” and puts the focus on “WE ARE HELPING EACH OTHER.” Having anger, feeling anger is ok and is normal, it’s how we react immediately and after the incident, that is ok or can be not ok. “We need to teach these youth how to handle the pain and anger from experiences they have had” Dr. Prothrow-Stith told the room full of people as they stood to give her a standing ovation.

Can A Black Man Get Re-elected in America ?

Lots of miracles have occured in history ..... the Virgen de Guadalupe appeared to the little children BUT CAN A black man get re-elected in America ?
The first time Barack Obama won the Presidential election in the United States some folks threatened to leave the United States and never come back. So what happens when the same black man wants to run for re-election ? Can a black man get re-elected in America ? After all how many times can folks bring out the “birth certificate” issue or the “relatives” issue. Can we as the people of the United States of America say “despite the color of that man, I do agree that he is the best person qualified to be the Head of State”.
The 2012 Presidential election is certainly going to have lots of folks gasping and saying “oh my gosh” so why not start practicing here. Practice your “oh my gosh” statements so that you are drama ready and camera ready for November 2012.
Grocery Bags Changing
